Weights & Measures Of Digbeth

An artists mapping project in Birmingham, UK.

Using a investigation of methodologies for research and mapping as a starting point for creative practice. Working in three distinct phases of PENDING, RESEARCHING and CONCEPTING with a rolling exhibition of works at Eastside Projects, UK.

Stage one: Pending

Each morning the handbuild samosa cart would be filled with fresh samosas from the local deli.  Travelling each day for two weeks in the summer of 2016, we moved between workshops in Digbeth, exchanging samosas for time; to learn about the area, local makers and industries.

At each stop, the cart was altered somehow with objects, materials or skills donated by the people of Digbeth.
