Acts of Care: Bench Repair Project
Bristol Edition - Work in Progress
12 years since the the first edition, each slat here has been newly created for a park in Bristol; inlayed by hand using the handmade tools shown here. This time, the recognisable imagery of patches and stitches are used to ornament; offering the beauty of everyday care and repair.
During COVID-19 restrictions Linda has worked through hope rather than certainty to create this caring action for the city and spaces that hold her as “…an offering to the future, to a time when we can sit and share in public space again.”
This work simultaneously present in Bristol’s Parks as well as the exhibition.
